Cliff McDonald

Accounting Manager

Grew up in Western Canada. Including living for several years in Calgary, Edmonton and a mountain city called Fernie, BC where i met my wife Judy (married 48 years).  Judy and I moved to London, Ont. than to Goderich, Ont. where I worked for 15-years with Sheaffer Pen of Ft. Madison, Iowa.  (Pen City).  We moved to Bettendorf, Iowa and owned several businesses (Judy was always President).  We moved back to Canada in 1998 after our 2 boys attended ISU and returned to Ames in 2012 following retirement in Canada.

In 1974, I completed my CMA at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ont. and now am a CPA (Canada). Bethesda is a great opportunity for Judy and I to reconnect with the Church, both being raised as Catholic, and hopefully assist the BLC with my accounting, financial and management skills & experiences on a part-time basis.  We now have 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild (girl) to be born in June 2019.  We love the change in seasons in Iowa:  skiing in winter, riding in our 1984 Corvette in summer and planning a get-away holiday in the fall.  We are thank-full for all the blessings and health God has bestowed on us and our family.

We love the spirit at BLC and I must say that in many many years of meetings (some daily) I have never had a staff meeting begin with 1-hour of song & bible study.  Pastor Bryan & Pastor Ryan provide all attendees with insight as to how meetings should be conducted to show respect for one another without prejudice.  WWJD.
