Confirmation 2024 - 2025

The Weekend of March 4th and 5th marked the end of the OASIS Confirmation journey for five eighth graders who stood before Saturday and Sunday congregation members and affirmed their baptisms. Tessa Carstens, Samuel Harriman, Amelie Newstrom, Anna Weber, and Caleah Woodcock were surrounded by their family and mentors as they took the next step in becoming adults in the church. Their growth in faith was truly remarkable. "Usually, it's hard getting confirmands to participate in the service the weekend they're getting confirmed, but with this group, it was 'Are you sure this is the part of the service you want to do?'. This group, in particular, were eager to lend their time and talents to both services", said Pastor Bryan Simmons. Perhaps the confirmands grew accustomed to participating in weekend worship services because of their time as acolytes during OASIS, a tradition brought back by OASIS Confirmation Team Lead Nancy Ewing and Pastor Bryan, or maybe the confirmands were excited about being able to get more involved in church activities after their confirmation. In either case, over the past three years, we have seen their testaments to their faith grow tenfold, and we are delighted to welcome them as official voting members of the congregation.
