"There's no better meal than chili and beer," said lead Pastor Bryan Simmons on a rainy Tuesday night, March 4th, at Torrent Brewing Company at Bethesda's annual Beer & Hymns event. This year, the Chili Cook-Off was combined with our Beer & Hymns community event to provide a full meal for attendees, promote friendly competition among entrants, and raise money for the Ames Community School District's Lunch Hero Program. As we raised our voices and glasses, attendees could sample ten chilis and enjoy king's cake for dessert, and maybe even find Jesus in their slice, while determining which dish would get their cash vote for their favorite chili.
